About Us

From Raw Cut to Refined Finish

We don’t rush wood. We respect it.
Every board starts with intentional sourcing—from trusted mills, both domestic and international. Whether it’s American White Oak or Walnut, we choose material with character and consistency.

Then, our in-house manufacturing team gets to work:

  • Kiln-dried for stability

  • Milled with precision tools

  • Hand-finished or wire-brushed to your specs

  • Cut to your needs: chevron, herringbone, wide plank, or custom layouts

We don’t believe in “standard.” We believe in getting it right—for you, your timeline, and the space it’s meant for.

Not Just Wood – Your Canvas

You’ve got options. Real ones.
Because your design vision deserves more than whatever’s “in stock.”

Choose from:

  • American White Oak – timeless and versatile

  • European White Oak – smooth, sophisticated grain

  • Japanese White Oak – refined grain with exceptional stability
  • Ash – light, bright, and resilient

  • Hickory – rustic charm with unmatched durability

  • Walnut – deep tones, rich character

  • Red Oak – classic grain, made for bold finishes

  • Rifted & Quartersawn White Oak – refined, straight-grain elegance

Pair your material with your preferred construction: solid or engineered – and finish it your way. Select grade, character grade, custom stain? Yes, yes, and yes.

HOW TO CARE FOR SONDER FLOORS

Tailored Tips for Every Wood Type

Each wood species has its own personality, grain, tone, hardness, and how it likes to age. Here’s how to keep yours in peak condition!

American White Oak

Durable and dependable, this wood is easy to maintain with regular sweeping and a pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals to preserve its natural patina.

European White Oak

Known for its smooth grain, this wood benefits from gentle dry mopping and occasional re-oiling if finished with natural oil. Maintain indoor humidity to avoid movement.

Rifted & Quartersawn White Oak

Extremely stable and low-maintenance—just sweep and spot clean as needed. Ideal for wide planks and radiant heat.

Red Oak

A classic with bold grain that needs a bit more moisture control. Clean up spills quickly and use rugs in busy areas to reduce wear.

Ash

Light, bright, and slightly softer. Use soft brooms and avoid heavy impact to prevent dents or scratches.

Hickory & Walnut

Hickory with its rustic strength, Walnut with its deep elegance. Use felt pads on furniture and avoid dragging heavy items to protect the surface. Rotate rugs occasionally to balance out sun exposure and keep tones even.
